Where Will Your Baby Sleep?
When a new baby comes into your life, there are so many things to think about and buy. One of the first things many mums think about is where the baby is going to sleep. Have you imagined that tiny little baby between crisp clean sheets in a tiny little bassinet? Sleep is one of the most important things in a parent’s life: getting bubs to sleep, sleeping through the night and not forgetting, getting enough sleep yourself! No wonder that a baby bassinet is one of the most important products to buy.

Keep Baby Close and Nicely Tucked In
Many mums use a bassinet for the first couple of months of their baby’s life. Newborn babies are so tiny, they kind of disappear in a standard cot. Besides that, most mums like to keep their little ones close. If it is not to keep an eye on their adorable baby, it is because of all the night feeds they have to do those first months. Whether you would like your baby sleeping close to you or have them in their own room, a baby bassinet is a cosy place to sleep for your little one. They will be nicely tucked in their own little nest. Bassinets come with all kinds of great options to make sleep even more comfortable for you and your little one.

6 Tips For When You Buy A Baby Bassinet
Our mums have shared a lot of their thoughts and experiences about bassinets over the years. Things they consider most important when buying a bassinet are the following:
- Mesh sides – bassinets with mesh sides will make it easy for you to look in when bub is in the bassinet next to your own bed
- Great height – check how the bassinet height fits your own bed height and consider how easy it will be to reach in if bubs is in their bassinet
- On wheels – bubs sleep a lot in their early days and you might have them in the bassinet a lot. Bassinets on wheels are easy to move around the house and especially when you have had a c-section you are not allowed to lift anything yourself
- Co-sleeping options – it is not recommended to let your baby sleep in your bed, but what about having baby in their own bassinet attached to your bed with the side down so you have immediate access to your baby, without the risk of them laying in your bed?
- Rocking feature – getting baby to sleep can be quite challenging and being able to rock their little bassinet might be a life safer.
- Tilting option – newborn baby’s often have issues with reflux (milk coming up) and being able to tilt the baby bassinet might make sleeping time a lot more pleasant for you and your little one.
